Timeline

April 2010  Skilling and Employment celebrated its 5 Year Anniversary in business.  Federal labour MP for Lindsay David Bradbury and Mark Arbib, Employment Participation Minister where in attendance at this special occasion with Staff Members and clients.  More than 1800 people have found jobs at the Centre since opening.

November 2009  Skilling and Employment participated at the Ropes Crossing bunnings Trade Show with a stand encouraging local employers to visit and find out more about what the Centre has to provide from which they could benefit.

September 2009 Skilling and Employment participated as an exhibitor at the Penrith Valley Apprenticeship and Traineeship Expo.  Over 3500 students and parents attended.

September 2008  Ropes Crossing Skilling & Employment assists Landscaping Contractor to employ Landscape Apprentice at Ropes Crossing.

September 2008 Exhibitor at Penrith Apprenticeships & Traineeship Expo at Penrith Panthers.

April 2008 Ropes Crossing Skilling and Employment has cemented its position as a valuable community resource by helping more than 1000 find jobs since it opened three years ago.

November 2007 -  July 2008 Ropes Crossing Skilling & Employment provides briefings, workshops and assistance to local people applying for jobs at Ropes Crossing Coles Supermarket.

March – August 2007  6 young people successfully completed and graduated the Ropes Crossing Bush Regeneration and Community Engagement Green Corps Project.

April 2007 Second Birthday celebration. 685 jobseekers found employment and 111 people have started training thanks to Ropes Crossing Skilling & Employment.

December 2006 Delfin Lend Lease contracted and funded AV Jennings Homes to construct a home in Ropes Crossing and AV Jennings sub-contracted Western Sydney Institute of Tafe.  Thirty five pre-vocational students from carpentry, plumbing and horticulture courses were involved in the construction of the three bedroom home.

September 2006  Ropes Crossing Skilling & Employment wins NSW Urban Development Institute of Australia's most prestigious award, the Presidents Award, recognising outstanding industry leadership and innovation.

May 2006 Local jobseekers completed Certificate I in Active Volunteering with Conservation Volunteers Australia at Ropes Crossing.

April 2006 First Birthday Celebration attended by Mulgoa MP and Minister for Western Sydney Diane Beamer and Delfin Lend Lease Project Director Arthur Ilias. After 12 months of operation the centre had assisted 333 local residents find jobs and 77 ongoing training placements.

April 2006 Ropes Crossing Skilling & Employment wins Western Sydney Industry Award for Regional Excellence – Outstanding Community Contribution (Large Business)

March 2006 North St. Marys Public School Reading Program with mentors from Delfin Lend Lease Ropes Crossing.

December 2005  A group of 8 local jobseekers successfully completed a computer and office skills training program facilitated by local training organisation JobQuest and funded through NSW Department of Education & Training.

December 2005 Artwork completed on roller shutters at Centre through program partnership between North  St Marys Neighbourhood Centre, Chifley College and the Ropes Crossing Community Development Team.

September 2005  100 local people found jobs with the assistance of Ropes Crossing Skilling & Employment.

4 April 2005 Ropes Crossing Skilling & Employment opened by State Member for Londonderry Allan Shearan.
