Skilling & Employment - Jordan Springs - Ropes Crossing - joining employment and training providers with job seekers

Ropes Crossing is part of a three-stage development being built on a 1,545 hectare site at St Marys in western Sydney.  Each stage is surrounded by the 900 hectare Regional Park. Construction commenced in December 2004. Jordan Springs at Penrith, the second stage of development, commenced construction in 2011.  The whole site will be home to more than 13,000 residents at its expected completion in 2021 and will generate approximately 5,300 ongoing jobs in the region.  A further 8,000 jobs will occur as a result of the construction program.

As fully masterplanned communities Ropes Crossing and Jordan Springs will include business and employment opportunities in education, retail, local commercial, light industrial, community services and recreation. 

The Skilling and Employment Centre, a community initiative of Lend Lease, provides free support, advice and facilities to local jobseekers.  It facilitates links between employers and job seekers to employment and training opportunities occurring at the development site, within the new community and in the local area.

THE COMPANY Our employment partner is a well respected civil construction company located in Penrith. THE POSITION For this entry level position we a seeking an organised, focused and energetic individual who can put into practice their understanding of accounting principles gained at University. Working within a small but experienced finance team you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks including payroll, accounts receivable, month end reporting, general ledger, preparing activity reports and reconciliations. THE CANDIDATE Having recently obtained your accounting degree you will possess the following skills and experience: - Understanding of general ledger accounting - Ability to analyse data - Practical knowledge of Microsoft suite - Effective communication skills - An ability to prioritise your workload. Knowledge of the civil construction industry would be highly advantageous.
